An honest mom take on Mom Guilt<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Honestly, I hate mom guilt so much.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

We can talk all day about <\/span>what mom guilt is, and all the logical ways we can try to work through it<\/a><\/strong>, but sometimes we just have to acknowledge that it\u2019s there and allow ourselves to say \u201cthis sucks\u201d.<\/span><\/p>

Ever felt guilty about feeling guilty? This is exactly what I am talking about.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

As moms, we put so much pressure on ourselves to get it right. We fret, worry, and plan for all the eventualities. We put intention into the ways we raise our children, how we treat our children and what we teach our children. We sacrifice our time, our bodies, our careers and much of our personal lives because we love them and we want to do what is best for them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

And yet, we still feel like it\u2019s not enough.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Like we aren\u2019t patient enough.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Or fun enough.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Or organized enough.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Or healthy enough.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Or maternal enough.<\/span><\/p>

Or happy enough.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Or present enough.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The irony is that for many of us, motherhood is the thing we try our hardest at, and simultaneously the thing we feel most guilty about getting \u201cwrong\u201d.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

And when we carry childhood wounds from trauma<\/a>, or other events that have shaped us, especially by our parents, we become hyper aware of the effect we are having on our kids. We want to do our best, but often feel as though our best isn\u2019t good enough.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Why? Well, that\u2019s for another blog.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Just know you are not alone in feeling mom guilt.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

It\u2019s a topic that is so important to me because it is so universal and can be detrimental to both our experience of motherhood and our self-worth. I want to stop feeling it and help you to do so as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
