I realized immediately that I’ve never allowed myself to be just one thing before – peaceful OR present OR productive. Choosing only one was incredibly liberating.

I keep comparing myself with my old self, the one living in a nice country with no many worries about money, a dream job, a good support system health wise and friend wise and a gorgeous city. I was able to give my child my best self. Now.. we had to move to my husband’s hometown in Colombia in a small town with a low paying job and me not being able to work… it’s been hard to say the least, and I feel terribly guilty for not being able to be the mom I used to be for my child a year ago. My circumstances have changed I feel trap, sad, on the verge of depression most days and I still try my best but always feel like it’s not enough. Reading all of this it just seems as a need for lowering expectations and still knowing that I’m doing my best it’s just different now, and that’s okay.
